CONFERENCE
The Global Conference on Economic Geography (GCEG) is the world’s leading international meeting for scholars, practitioners, and students engaged in economic geography. The conference provides a vibrant forum for dialogue on the most pressing global economic, social, and ecological transformations shaping our time. GCEG brings together a diverse international community to share cutting-edge research, exchange ideas, and engage with debates that transcend disciplinary and geographical boundaries. Each conference edition reflects its host city’s unique context while maintaining GCEG’s core mission: fostering inclusive, critical, and globally engaged conversations on the geographies of economic change.

The International Scientific Committee will be composed of scholars based in Italy and internationally, representing a broad range of geographical regions, theoretical perspectives, and career stages.
Its role is to support the scientific quality of the conference, contribute to the selection of themes and sessions, and ensure that the programme reflects the diversity and global scope of contemporary economic geography.

Call for Host Institutions
Details regarding the call to host the 9th Global Conference on Economic Geography will be published in early 2028. The call will outline the application process, eligibility criteria, and key requirements for interested host institutions.
